A microphone-first party game
Mimic Party is played with a microphone: controller input does not decide the imitation round. One to five players hear the same sound and make their takes on the same countdown.

One take for everyone
There is no re-record option. Once a take is submitted, it is played back to the table, then the score appears after the performance.
Local scoring
The official description says scoring runs on the player's machine and focuses on melody, rhythm, and attacks. It is designed around what a human throat can reproduce rather than vocal timbre.
